DuPage County JATC will be accepting applications EVERY TUESDAY.

 

You must apply in person with a picture ID and your application fee. Our office is located at 28600 Bella Vista Parkway, Suite 1500, Warrenville, IL 60555. Applications are accepted 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the morning or 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. in the afternoon.

 

There are two training programs available: Commercial Electrician & Telecommunications Electrician

 

Application fee:

One program = $20.00 - Two programs = $25.00, Only cash or money orders will be accepted for payment.

 

An Aptitude Test will be given in November for those with completed applications. The Aptitude Test is two parts: Part I is Algebra. Part II is Reading Comprehension. Test scores range from 1-9. Your score must be a 4 or better in order to be interviewed the following January or February.

 

After the interview, your name will be placed on an eligibility list. Selection from that list will be determined by the number of job openings. Work will begin in Spring. Classes will start in August.

An individual who can show they have met the conditions listed below, after completing the application for the program, may be afforded an oral interview by the JATC. If interviewed, the applicant will be listed among those applicants qualified for selection, for a period of two calendar years from the date of interview.

 

To be interviewed the applicant must:

 

A. Be a minimum of 17 years of age - applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of selection and indenture.

 

B. Be at least a high school graduate, have a GED, or have a two-year Associate Degree or higher.

 

C. Show evidence of achieving a "C" average grade during one full year of high school Algebra I or one full year of post high school Algebra I equivalent. (Two years of high school pre-Algebra with a "C" average will be accepted)

 

D. Provide an official transcript for high school and post high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable.

 

E. Present evidence that they possess a valid driver's license.

 

F. Provide a copy of their birth certificate.

 

G. Submit a DD-214 to verify military training and/or experience if they are a veteran and wish to receive consideration for such training/experience.

 

H. Qualify for interview by obtaining a score of "4" or higher, using the electrical trade's aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institute for Research. The number of qualified applicants interviewed may be determined by selecting the top aptitude scores equaling 500% of the anticipated positions available.

 

I. Prior to being indentured, the applicants selected from the pool of interviewed applicants may be required to provide results of a physical examination and a drug test as decided by the JATC.

 

J. Submit documents written in the English language.
